Bosch Mobility Platform & Solutions
A DAX conglomerate runs RenDanHeYi in one small software unit - reported by the unit itself and its consultant, with no result figure
Bosch Mobility Platform & Solutions is the German-Indian software unit behind the logistics operating system L.OS, rebuilt from the shell of the discontinued Coup scooter-sharing company in 2023. It has organised itself since about 2019 into micro-enterprises with their own profit and loss, ecosystem contracts between them and value-adjustment agreements, on top of SAFe. It won a ZeroDX award in 2024. Every word of that comes from the unit's own award submission and from the consultancy that sold it the toolkit.

Why this status
Real, identifiable and still active in 2026 - but small, young, layered on a conventional agile framework, without a single published organisational result, and documented only by the award body and the consultant. The 2026 change of managing director is a question mark, not a finding.
What makes it a Beta case
- Micro-enterprises with product strategy and profit-and-loss autonomy, mandated through a "3+2 box" framework; examples are L.OS (logistics), a composability unit and a go-to-market team.
- Ecosystem micro-communities (EMCs) as cooperation contracts between micro-enterprises and value-adjustment mechanisms (VAMs) as target agreements with "skin in the game" - Haier's vocabulary applied one to one, with the Boundaryless 3EO toolkit.
- Three industry platforms (logistics, parked-vehicle ecosystem, people movement) over shared service platforms; a small "egoless" board that deliberately creates "appropriate entropy".
- Underneath, SAFe with ten-week planning windows remains the operating rhythm. Pay was to be tied to the maturity of an idea (creative incentives early, revenue share later) with a job guarantee if a micro-enterprise fails - described in 2024 as planned, not implemented.
What is documented
- The unit exists and trades: Bosch Mobility Platform & Solutions GmbH, Gerlingen, wholly owned by Robert Bosch GmbH with a profit-transfer agreement, renamed from Coup Mobility GmbH in May 2023; headquarters described as India-based; about 140 people on LinkedIn.
- ZeroDX award 2024 in the "transformational" category; the submission text (September 2024) describes the model and a scale of 40-50 million platform requests a month.
- Product results exist: an AWS case study (data from mid-2024, published April 2026) reports L.OS in three regions with 89 integrated solutions, 5% fewer empty kilometres and 25% better fleet efficiency - product, not organisation, figures.
- Active in 2026: supply-chain product launch in Bengaluru (April 2025), partnerships, a new managing director from January 2026.
Where it cracks
- No organisational outcome has ever been published - no engagement, turnover, cycle-time or profit figure attributed to the model. The consultant's own interview (February 2024) says success metrics were "not yet quantified" and micro-enterprises and EMCs were "in a pilot phase".
- Sources: the award body's page is Bosch's own submission ("we believe the case is very relevant"); the second source is the paid consultant. No Bosch press release, no independent press, no Corporate Rebels article, no executive post in 2025-26 mentioning it.
- Scale: a unit of one to two hundred people carved out of a discontinued scooter venture, not the Bosch core; the model runs on top of SAFe rather than instead of hierarchy, and the pay mechanics were unimplemented in 2024.
- Context: Bosch Mobility is in the deepest restructuring of its history - about 22,000 German positions to go by 2030, a EUR 2.7bn provision, profit halved in 2025, a new division head in July 2026. The India-focused software unit is probably not in the line of fire, but the departure of its long-time director in January 2026 is not explained anywhere.
Verdict
Bosch MPS answers a narrow question: will a large German engineering group let a small software subsidiary try Haier's model? Yes, and it is still there two years after the award. It does not answer whether the model does anything, because nobody has measured it, and it does not say anything about Bosch. List it as what it is - a corporate pilot reported by itself - and revisit it when a result or an independent account appears.
For a talk
Bosch MPS shows that RenDanHeYi can be tried inside a German conglomerate - and that two years after an award for it, there is still not one published number that says what it changed.
