2. What Data We Collect and Why
When you visit our website we automatically log server data (IP address, browser type and version, requested URL, referrer, timestamp) to deliver the service and ensure its stability and security. These logs are deleted automatically after 7 days. When you contact us via the contact form or by email, we process the data you provide (name, email address, optionally company, subject, message) solely to handle your request. This data is deleted once your request has been finally processed and no statutory retention obligations apply, but at the latest after 6 months. Apart from the processors listed below, we do not share data with third parties.
3. Legal Basis
The legal basis for processing server logs is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in security and stable operation). The legal basis for handling contact requests is Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in efficient communication).

5. Email Delivery
For transactional emails (e.g. replies to contact requests) we use Postmark by ActiveCampaign, LLC (USA). This transfers your email address and the message content to a processor located in the USA. The transfer is based on the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) adopted by the European Commission pursuant to Art. 46 (2) lit. c GDPR as appropriate safeguards under Art. 44 et seq. GDPR.

Under Art. 77 GDPR you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (for us: The Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information). For questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at info@betaos.org.
7. Cookies
We only use technically necessary cookies (e.g. to store your language preference). These are set on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR and § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG; no consent is required. We do not use any tracking, marketing or analytics cookies.
8. No Automated Decision-Making
No automated decision-making, including profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR, takes place. A data protection officer has not been appointed as we are not required to do so under § 38 BDSG.
